Luego de ser laceado y atado a un árbol, han de pasar tres dias para que este peligroso animal se "ablande" y sus fuerzas se vean debilitadas. Es en este momento que Abelino lo ata hábilmente hasta lograr voltearlo. Una vez reducido en el suelo es aproximado para cortarle los cachos con un serrucho. Después. amarrado al costado del caballo es dirigido hasta el campamento.  Dias o semanas más tarde el animal llegará a un campo donde será liberado y podrá recuperar su peso.
